In the Book of Mormon we can discover patterns. We also know that God is unchanging, which means that He follows similar patterns in how He deals with us from generation to generation. Joseph Smith came as an Elias to prepare the way and did the work God required of Him. It was known of God and alluded to in scripture that they would fail to bring forth Zion in that day. There is an example in the Book of Mormon of a way that The Lord has worked to allow a people to receive His fullness and succeed. I think there is a reason that it was included in the Book of Mormon for us to study and learn from.
In the history of the church we can read about how a people can fail. In 3 Nephi we read about how God can succeed to bring about His fullness with a people. It started with the breakdown of society due to corruption among the chief rulers. At this point the people began to find groups to be united with and tribes of people began to form over time that allowed for a degree of stability. During this period of years the Lord inspired His servants to preach the Gospel. Some of the people received the message and converted but most rejected the prophets the Lord sent to them and cast them out. When the Savior died there was a great cataclysm that deformed the face of the Land and left only the more righteous people alive. I believe that the reason these people survived is because the angels were given charge concerning them, to protect and allow for this outcome. Whether these angels were seen or unseen they were there.
The cleansing we will have to endure in our day is going to be even more severe than what we read about in the Book of Mormon. It’s important that people learn from the Lord what He wants them personally to do in preparation for the great changes which are about to take place.
I remember once an experience I had where I was taken above the earth and as I looked down I saw that the entire earth was burning. I remember how shocking it was to me to see how complete it was… It’s one thing to read about it and another to see it.
After this scene I was shown another scene of people who were hiding under the Earth in tunnels and caves because of what was happening above ground. ( before the burning took place). At this point I heard the communications from the powers of Heaven that they would gather in every one of them. It was clearly made known to me that everyone who was qualified by Christ would be gathered and preserved; every single person. Also, I was taught the means that would be used to house these people while the burning was taking place. It wasn’t at all what I expected. There is a lot more going on here than I realized. Since then I have learned of others who have been shown the same things. The angels will get everyone who is made worthy by Christ.
It’s my belief that this is the group who aren’t a part of Zion but who are good terrestrial people. They will be in a different situation than those who become united with that small group who eventually become Zion. They won’t require the same type of accommodations as this other group.
We can learn of the process the Lord will use to bring about this multi staged gathering of the House of Israel (Family of God). It will be very similar to what we read about in 3 Nephi 7-11. It worked before and it will work again. If you study 3 Nephi 21 you will see that this pattern is the chosen pattern of bringing about the Gathering of Israel.
3 Nephi 21
20 For it shall come to pass, saith the Father, that at that day whosoever will not repent and come unto my Beloved Son, them will I cut off from among my people, O house of Israel;
21 And I will execute vengeance and fury upon them, even as upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
If you read the verses previous to these ones it will become very apparent how thorough this cleansing of the unrighteous will be. You will also read about a ministry by a certain servant who will be rejected by all but some who will not be “cut off”, or destroyed in the flesh. It really will be a great and terrible day.
Isaiah foresaw that when it was all done there would be few men left.
Isaiah 24:4-6
“4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
My heart is heavy as I write this because of how dire and awful our present situation is and I know that the Lord wants us to be aware of what is really happening among the leaders of our countries. In an effort to inform our generation The Lord spoke to Moroni and commanded him to include this dire warning. Remember the Lord commanded Moroni to direct this commandment squarely at us.
Ether 8:23-26
23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.
24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.
25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.
26 Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved.”
I know it’s important to God that we know these things, because many years ago he sent messengers to me from the other side of the veil, to reinforce these truths. I believe the Lord knew we would all be better off if we were aware of what we were dealing with, and awake to our awful situation. In the above verses He didn’t mince words in how He described to us what we are dealing with, so I believe He wants us to take it literally. I think it would be wise to obey this commandment which Christ has specifically given to us. It’s harder to prepare if we aren’t aware of who or what our enemy is. All glory to God for allowing us to be forewarned.
